So, somehow this weekend I fell into making a batch of tamales ...
With the help of my good friend Dona Maria, I turned some homemade turkey stock into mole:
Mix with fat and stock:
And form a dough:

Then I cut up some smoky roast pork:
Then sauced the pork with mole and Pico Pica:
I had accidentally purchased some masa amarillo, and so used some of it to make my dough:

I don't have a dedicated tamale steamer, but I do have a couple of stock pots with steamer inserts and a larger 16 quart stock pot, so I improvised:
Rolling the tamales:
Let the steaming begin (note: I expected to have more than enough masa to make enough tamales to fill the steamer, but ran out at eighteen) :
A couple hours later, the fruit of our labors:
